Chinese APT Winnti Umbrella targeted technology and manufacturing companies across Asia, Europe, and North America in a sophisticated cyber espionage campaign that began in 2019. Winnti used a novel strain of malware to exfiltrate the victims’ intellectual property, including documents, blueprints, diagrams, formulas, and manufacturing-related proprietary data.
